Marble sculpture conservation

Hurricane Ida toppled this marble sculpture at the historic St. Alphonsus Church. Our conservators carefully pieced St. Joseph back together, and then rebuilt sections of his masonry and marble base. We also cleaned the historic marble to remove decades of biological growth and staining. This project required drilling, pinning and carefully filling and matching the historic marble.
