Monument to the Immigrant

Monument to the Immigrant

Bayou Preservation restored the Monument to the Immigrant marble sculpture, which is located in New Orleans' Woldenburg Park and owned by the Audubon Institute. This beautiful work commemorates the Italian Immigrants and their impact on New Orleans. The monument had faded inscriptions that required careful, replacement in-painting (done by hand), removal of staining from the white marble, and the reattachment of marble fingers. This job also included replacement of slate tiles, graffiti removal, grout matching, and repainting of the monument's viewing benches.
