Bayou Preservation's conservators have a variety of backgrounds and specialties in materials conservation. All of our conservators have post-graduate degrees in Historic Preservation, and we are proficient in masonry, stone, plaster, metals, and paints and coatings.
PortfolioFamily Tomb in St. Louis #2Bayou Preservation restored this family tomb in St. Louis #2, and created a custom color-wash that matched the historic, red limewash from the late nineteenth century. PortfolioPoydras (Orphans) TombBayou Preservation completed the restoration of the large, cruciform Poydras Tomb in Lafayette Cemetery #1. The restoration included replacing the lost marble enclosure tablets, repairing the existing stucco, removing paint and biological growth from the marble urn, and applying traditional limewash. PortfolioMarie Laveau TombBayou Preservation completed the full restoration of the Marie Laveau Tomb in the St. Louis Cemetery #1 in New Orleans.
